About My Writing
While my writing covers an array of topics, I’ve found over the years that my best work covers the moments in my life that are the most uncomfortable to put on the page. I am fascinated by our relationship to our bodies, gender, sexuality, the things that bring us shame, and the things that are impossible to look away from.
My goal as a writer and a teacher is to make space for others to share their full selves to pave the way for radical self-acceptance in an age where social media surveillance and “cringe” culture prevent us from fully expressing who we are.
Now, more than ever, there are several accessible avenues for writers of all kinds to share their work and who they are. I hope my writing and teaching inspire others to contribute their stories to the ongoing literary conversation, so literature can continue to reflect the depth and complexity of our humanity.
